Kevin Parker

I graduated from Harvard in 2016 with a degree in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology.  During my sophomore year, I became interested in stem cell biology, and joined the lab of Dr. Kevin Eggan, where I worked for three years as an undergraduate.  I studied one population of neurons in the hypothalamus known as hypocretin neurons, whose degeneration causes the sleep disorder narcolepsy, in addition to two other hypothalamic populations that regulate feeding and appetite.  Outside of lab, I’m an avid rock climber and skier, and am excited to explore the mountains in the Bay Area over the next several years!
